Google has dedicated a doodle to Stella Adadevoh, late Nigerian medic, on her 62nd posthumous birthday.

Until her death in 2014, Adadevoh was a doctor at First Consultant Hospital, Yaba.

She is remembered for curbing the spread of Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria by placing Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian, in quarantine despite pressure from the Liberian government to release him.

“Today our #Googledoodle celebrates the life of Stella Adadevoh, the Nigerian doctor, who helped stop the spread of Ebola in the country during the 2014 outbreak,” the tech giant wrote on Twitter.

A Google Doodle is a special alteration of the logo on Google’s homepage that commemorates holidays, events, achievements, and people.

She died alongside three of her colleagues after contracting Ebola while treating Sawyer and other victims.

Due to her actions, all 20 Ebola patients were traced and quarantined, preventing a major outbreak.
