Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace as Portugal defeated Hungary 3-0 in front of a sellout crowd at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon on Saturday.
The game itself was a qualifier for the next World Cup in Russia. Cristiano Ronaldo was in the starting eleven alongside Pepe, and scored twice for the side against the Hungarians to get three vital points, which means that they are now second in group B. This brace moves him onto 70 goals for his country.
Shortly after André Silva opened the scoring, Cristiano turned the screw for the Portuguese in the 36th minute. He connected with a pass from André Silva, and buried a left footed shot from the edge of the box. The Portuguese netted his second in the second half, netting after the ball went in off Gulacsi’s post in the 65th minute.
