At a concert in Auckland, New Zealand, a few days ago, Grammy award winner,Adele sent out an emotional tribute to her hometown of London, England, following a terror attack in the city that claimed five victims and left dozens injured.
The 28-year-old singer paid homage to the victims during her concert in Auckland, New Zealand on Thursday.
“Today there was a terror attack in my hometown of London,” Adele told the audience. “I’m on the other side of the world and I want them to see our lights and to hear us.”
“It’s very strange not being home, all I want to do today is be at home with my friends and family. Everyone’s fine, but there are four people [victims of the attack at the time]who aren’t fine so let’s dedicate this to them tonight,” the GRAMMY winner said as she launched into a performance of “Make You Feel My Love.”
The act of terror occurred outside the Houses of Parliament in London’s Westminster area killing five people and 40 injured at the incident. The attacker also fatally stabbed police officer Keith Palmer. According to The Guardian, the attacker has been identified as 52-year-old Khalid Masood. The British-born suspect killed five people, before being fatally shot by police.
