Sex workers in Mombasa are presently holding a peaceful protest over the mistreatment of their customers after their partner was professedly killed by a customer a weekend ago.
The unnamed commercial sex worker was found dead by workers who came to clean the room last Saturday. Her colleagues said they last saw her entering the hotel with a man the previous evening.
Kanake said they are tracing the man said to have been with the lady before her body was found.
They have petitioned police to investigate the cases as they plan to stage demonstration next to protest the senseless killing and assaults by male clients.
Today, they are holding demonstrations from Uhuru Garden along Moi Avenue to the office of the County commissioner where they will petition the government to intervene.
At least three sex workers have been murdered in the cold blood in the last one month in Mombasa.
According to Classic 105, Mombasa has at least 11500 sex workers.
