Becky Ashiodiame Godfrey, a member of the National Youth Service Corps and 3 other passengers were abducted by gunmen dressed in police uniform along the Okene-Kogi road on Monday, April 3, on their way to Bayelsa State.
However, the police were able to rescue the victims on Tuesday, April 4th.
Becky, 30, said they were not fed and were only offered dirty water when they complained of being thirsty.
“They collected our money and phones and took four of us with them into the bush. Some of them were Fulani. They beat me up and forced me to disclose my father’s phone number.
“My experience in the bush was terrible. They didn’t give us any food. Later, they gave us dirty water to quench our thirst. The water was smelly. None of us drank it. I was the only female; the three other victims were males.”
Spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, William Aya, who confirmed the incident said two persons were arrested in connection with the abduction and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
