Dapo, as the new signee is known, is the first artiste on Praiz’s management company, an imprint on the Steve Babaeko-owned X3M Music.
Praiz, second runner-up of the first ever Project Fame West Africa, took to Instagram on Saturday to announce the signing of Dapo, who emerged fifth in season nine of the competition.
He wrote: “I just signed my first artiste, Congratulations @dapo_official on your signing! Right from project fame till date I always knew u had the passion, determination, hustle spirit and talent.
“Never let that change. Today I want to welcome you to my Team. Congratulations.”
The singer, born Praise Ugbede Adejo, urged his fans to “please follow my new artiste @dapo_official. Your support and love is essential for his growth. God bless you”.
Dapo, 20, is a systems engineering undergraduate of the University of Lagos.
He took interest in music at the age of seven when he started following his mum to choir rehearsals in the church.
As the fourth runner-up on Project Fame season nine, he won N1 million. Okiemute Ighorodje emerged the winner of the competition that season.
Commenting on his new deal, Dapo said he is “grateful for this opportunity”, describing the development as a “new chapter”.
